Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act

Since the Federal Reserve Board has determined that residential real estate appraisal is an activity that is "Closely Related to Banking" (12 CFR 225.28), real estate appraisers must, therefore, be in compliance with the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, also know as the FTC Privacy Rule (16 CFR Part 313).

This requires us to take all reasonable measures to safeguard your personal information. The one downside to this is that even though you may have paid for the appraisal, unless you are the one who ordered it, we cannot legally disclose any information about your appraisal to you. The financial institution with whom you are dealing with must provide you with a copy of your appraisal in a timely manner (you may want to request a copy in writing).
